DIY Name Sign



As soon as we moved into our new house and I started thinking about how I wanted to decorate the girls' room, I had a vision of having their names above their beds.  I finally got around to getting it done and I'm loving how it has turned out!




 I think it looks so perfect above her new antique bed!


I used a 1x7 board and painted it white with this chalk paint I found on Amazon (here).  I printed off her name in this pretty font (the font is called Ballerina) and rubbed the back with chalk and traced my letters onto the board.  Then I filled in the letters with black paint.


Then I had my husband nail these trim pieces to the side of the board to make it into a box shape like a canvas.  Then all we had to do was put two screws in the wall and hang the sign.


I did one for my other daughter too but didn't have enough trim pieces to finish hers.  I'll be finishing hers up and posting an update when I get that done.  I'm loving how this room is coming together!  If you missed it, here's the  "I am a Child of God" sign I made for her room (see it HERE).  I just recently bought these cute hooks at Hobby Lobby.  I wanted to hang her blessing dress under the sign and I love how it looks all put together.






Now to add window trim and curtains and decorate the other half of the room!





I love how putting her name here really makes it her space.  Love this girl and her sweetness.
